Checking In/Out Students

Checking In Students:
If you are bringing a student to school late for any reason. Parent/Guardian may call the attendance office at 541-440-4146 or sent a note in with their student to excuse them. Parent/Guardian are not required to enter the building to check in their student.

Checking Out Students:
  1. Please call the office ahead of time, so we can try to have your student up front and ready for when you arrive.
  2. Once you arrive at school you will need to check in through the raptor entrance with you photo ID
  3.  After checking in, head to the attendance office to check your student out before leaving the building
If you do not check out with the attendance office your student's attendance will not be updated and you will receive an absent notification from ParentSquare.

Fun Fact - your student does have a 9th period! If you've ever received a notification that your student was absent from 9th period, it's not an error. On wednesdays, students have Advisory class that is also called 9th period. This is a 30 min. class that happens once a week.

Parking at DHS

If your student is parking off campus at a building around the High School, they must have arrangements with the building before parking.

DHS contacted us and said they have students parking at their building. They do not allow any student to park there. They will be towing any student cars that park in their parking lot this year.

The Holiday Inn: Will be towing cars that are parked all day on their property. Pick up and drop offs are still okay to do, They don't have the capacity to handle all day parking.

Cell Phone Reminder

The Policy

JFCEB - Personal Electronic Devices and Social Media
“Personal electronic devices shall be turned off during instructional or class time or at any other time where such use of the device would cause a disruption of school activities…”

The Why

  • Cell phones are a source of distraction for students, leading to decreased focus and attention in the classroom.
  • Cell phones can contribute to cyberbullying.
  • Cell phones can facilitate cheating during exams or assignments, as students can access answers or information.
  • Excessive cell phone use can lead to social isolation, as students may spend less time interacting face-to-face with their peers.

Result of Cell Phone Violations

  • Cell Phone violation #1 - Remind students of the policy. The teacher must send communication to the family and document in Synergy.
  • Cell Phone Violation #2 - Remind students of the policy. The teacher must make a phone call to the family and follow up with email and document in Synergy.
  • Cell phone Violation #3 –The phone will be given to the school administration, and a referral will be written. Student cell phone privileges will be revoked while at school, and communication home will be made by administration.
