Photojournalism Scholarship

Financial support to student photographers of high school and college age. Through a variety of funding, including equipment purchases and scholarships for college and technical school classes, the foundations mission is to expand educational and developmental opportunities for student photographers demonstrating interest, talent and financial need.  For more information go to:

National Honor Society (NHS) Scholarship Program

600 scholarships ranging from $3,200 to $25,000 for members of NHS.  Must be a high school senior who is an active member of NHS in good standing that will be graduating in the Spring of 2022, and planning to enroll in college in the fall of 2021.  To apply go to:

Barbara Lotze Scholarship

Pride Foundation

Pride Foundation has over 50 different types of scholarships available, but students only need to fill out one application. Most scholarships are available for straight ally or questioning students as well as student of LGBT parents. All promote leadership and diversity in the LGBT community. Interested individuals submit one application and the scholarship review committee will determine which scholarships the applicant is eligible for. Go to for more information.

Profiles in Courage Essay Contest

Awards from $100 to $10,000 for the selected essays that address the prompt: Describe and analyze an act of political courage by a US elected official who served during or after 1917. Essay must be between 700 to 1000 words.  For more information, go to:

Asian & Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund

Scholarship awards ranging from $2,500 to $20,000 for qualifying students.  Must be of Asian or Pacific Islander ethnicity, a first-generation college student, be involved in school and community activities, and have a minimum GPA of 2.7.  For more information go to:

Two $2,500 scholarships to students who are planning on pursuing post-secondary education in the automotive industry.  Selection based on student drive and ambition that student is able to communicate in a 700 to 1500 words essay.  For more information go to:

Horatio Alger Scholarships

One of the largest need-based college scholarship programs in the country. The Horatio Alger Scholarship Programs specifically assist high school students who've faced and overcome great obstacles in their lives. Students who have exhibited determination, integrity, and perseverance in overcoming adversity, as well as have critical financial need are encouraged to apply.  Go to:

Coca-Cola Scholars

150 graduating seniors in the US will be awarded $20,000 scholarships and an additional 150 will be awarded $1,000 to $1,500 scholarships. Students must be EXTENSIVELY involved in school and community activities and have an exceptional academic record.  Applications must be submitted online at

VFW –Voice of Democracy Competition

High school students in grades 9-12 are eligible to compete for local, state and national awards.  Students compete by writing and then recording a three-to-five minute audio essay expressing their views of this year’s patriotic theme: America: Where do we go from here?  For more information call go to:

University of Oregon Stamps Scholarship

Five scholarships for incoming freshmen will have their tuition, fees, and room and board paid for during all four years.  Additionally, students will receive $12,000 in enrichment funds to spend at their discretion.  Applicants must have a 3.85 GPA.  Applicants must complete University of Oregon application for admission and scholarship application by deadline date.  For more information go:

National Security Language Initiative- (NSLI)

550 full scholarships for students to study abroad and learn a foreign language.  Study in countries like China, Egypt, India, Korea, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkey, and other countries around the world.  Previous language study is not required.  Must be a U.S. Citizen, have a 2.5 GPA, and 15-18 years old.  For more information go to

Hispanic Heritage Foundation

Elks National Foundation Scholarships

500 4-year scholarships for graduating seniors who have demonstrated scholarship, leadership and financial need.  Selection for these awards begins at the local lodge level and continues to the district, state, and national level. For more information and to apply go to:.

Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Scholarship

$55,000 scholarships for students who demonstrate financial need.  Successful applicants will have a 3.5 GPA or higher and are seeking admissions to the nation’s best colleges and universities.  Apply online at:

Army ROTC Scholarships

The high school Four-Year Scholarship is for high school students planning on attending a four-year college program.  Students can attend colleges like Oregon State, University of Oregon, University of Portland and others on ROTC scholarships.   Once students finish their college degree, they agree to accept a commission and serve in the Army on Active Duty or in a Reserve Component. Harrington Family Foundation Scholarship

Four $4,000 renewable scholarships for graduating seniors to be used at an Oregon university or trade school.  Selection based on leadership, financial need, and “something special” as deemed by selection committee.  Go to:
