THE 1257 SCHOLARSHIP

Tom Weiss Memorial Scholarship

A $500 scholarship to a Roseburg High School graduating senior who has been accepted to accredited college or university.  Selection will be based on essay response, activities chart, letters or recommendation, and transcript review. The application is in the attachments.

Oregon School Facilities Management

Five $1,000 scholarships for students that plan to pursue an area of study that relates to a job in facility management, maintenance, support operations, engineering, or technology.  The Roseburg School District has a member in this organization, and this makes our students eligible to apply ·   Applicants must have a 2.75 GPA to qualify.  For more information, go to:  https://www.osfma.org/Student-Scholarships

Jaycee Foundation

Up to $2,000 is scholarships for graduating Oregon high school seniors.  Must have a 3.75 GPA.  Selection criteria include academic excellence, personal accomplishments, leadership qualities, and community service.  An application is attached.

Douglas Timbers Operators Scholarship

Three awards of $2,500 each.  Must have an intention to major in a natural resource related field.  This may include Chemistry, Animal Science, Geology, Biology, and Engineering.  Selection will be based on academic achievement, participation in school and community activities, personal statement, financial need and recommendations.  The application is in the attachments

Bob Manning Memorial Softball Scholarship

A $500 scholarship to a graduating RHS softball participant.  Must have a 3.0 GPA.  Selection criteria include academic achievement, financial need, and overall contribution to the RHS softball (both athletic and team spirit considered).  Application in the attachments.

Roseburg Rotary Club Scholarships

Seven scholarship awards up to $1,500 for graduating seniors.  Three are for UCC and three are for any 4-year accredited college or university.  One need-based scholarship will be awarded to the school of the student’s choice.   UCC bound students need a 3.0 GPA and 4-year bound students need to have 3.5 GPA to apply for these scholarships.  Application in the attachments or go to www.roseburgrotaryclub.org

The Oregon Scottish Rite Education Scholarship

Ten to fifteen $1,000 scholarships available to graduating high school seniors.  Selection based on student need, exceptional qualities, and leadership.  Application in the attachments.

Masonic Lodge Scholarships

Two scholarships.  One $3,000 award is for a student pursuing technical training.  The second is a $4,500 for a student pursuing a Bachelors’ Degree. Application in the attachments.

Oregon Music Hall of Fame Scholarship

Four $2,500 scholarships graduating high school seniors who plan to major or minor in music in college.  Applicants should have demonstrated serious pursuit and accomplishment in the musicianship.  For an application and more information go to:  http://www.omhof.org/

Horatio Alger Career & Technical Scholarship

Alert Magazine Scholarship

American Indian Graduate Center

American Indian Graduate Center provides up to $30,000 in scholarships per student per year and supports Native students pursuing undergraduate, graduate, and professional degrees in the United States. University of Oregon Scholarships

Presidential Scholars - $9,000, renewable, 3.85; Significant leadership, and volunteer activities

Apex - $2,000 renewable; 3.60 GPA

Diversity Excellence – Up to $6,500 awards available to students who enhance the educational experience of all students by sharing diverse cultural experiences.

Summit - $4,000 renewable scholarship; 3.8 GPA

General University Scholarship – $2,000 to $3,000.  Must have a 3.5 GPA

These are some of the scholarships available to University of Oregon Students.  In order to apply for these scholarships, a student must submit an application for admissions, and complete the U of O Scholarship application.
