Epsilon Sigma Alpha (ESA)

Over 40 scholarships with varying amounts and with various criteria available to Oregon graduating seniors.  This is one of the few scholarship programs that request a processing fee that is legitimate.  If you plan on pursuing a career in education, look at the “Jerry & Judith Huntley award as that is a local family that sponsors the award.  For more information go to: https://www.epsilonsigmaalpha.org/scholarships-and-grants/

Al Forthan Memorial Scholarship

Up to a $10,000 scholarship for an Oregon graduating senior who comes from a family affected by drugs or alcohol, meaning that the student has been raised by a parent or guardian that has abused alcohol or drugs and are now pursuing recovery.  For more information, see Mr. Early in the Career Center.

Roseburg Education Association

Two awards of $1,500 to graduating high school senior whose parent or step-parent is a current member of the Roseburg Education Association or fair-share employee.  Award may be used at accredited school or college of recipient’s choice.  An application for this award is in the attachment.

Oregon PTA Scholarship

A $500 scholarship for Oregon residents who are studying for a teaching degree at an Oregon public college or university.  This is a one-time award.  Selection based on response to questions on application, personal and school reference, and high school transcript.  For an application go to:  http://oregonpta.org//programs/teacher-education-scholarship

Oregon Federation of Women’s Club Scholarship Contests

$500 scholarships in instrumental, vocal, essay, and art scholarships.  Competition will be held virtually on Saturday, April 22nd.   Must upload requested materials prior to competition.  See Mr. Early in the Career Center for information on each competition or go to:  http://www.oregongfwc.org/scholarships.html

Hanna Family Foundation Scholarship

$1,000 scholarships for graduating Roseburg High School seniors who plan to pursue post-secondary education including vocational training.  Minimum 2.75 GPA to apply.  Pick-up application in the Career Center

RHS Foundation – Future First Citizen Scholarships

One $10,000 award and four $4,000 scholarships to Roseburg High School graduating seniors.  Must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA, be significantly involved in school and community activities with demonstrated leadership roles and responsibilities, shows potential for future community leadership.  Application is attached or pick-up an application in the Career Center.

Union Plus Scholarship

Awards ranging between $500 to $4,000 for dependent children of participating Union members.  Selection criteria include academic ability, social awareness, financial need, and appreciation of labor.  For more information, go to:  https://www.unionplus.org/benefits/education/union-plus-scholarships

GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program

Numerous $10,000 awards for college-bound seniors who demonstrate exemplary leadership, drive, integrity and citizenship.  Must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.  For more information and an application go to www.reaganfoundation.org/scholarships

Army ROTC Scholarships

The high school Four-Year Scholarship is for high school students planning on attending a four-year college program. Students can attend colleges like Oregon State, University of Oregon, University of Portland and others on ROTC scholarships. Once students finish their college degree, they agree to accept a commission and serve in the Army on Active Duty or in a Reserve Component. For more information, go to www.goarmy.com/rotc

Navy NROTC

Tuition and educational expenses covered for college years, plus a monthly allowance.  Upon graduation from college, serve as an officer.  Apply at:  https://www.netc.navy.mil/commands/naval-service-training-command/nrotc/apply/

Society of Manufacturing Engineers Scholarships

The RHS Foundation administers the awards below:

4-year college scholarship - $500 or $1000 and RHS Class of 1965 - $1,200
(3.5 GPA, involvement in school/community activities) 
2-year program scholarship - $500
(3.0 GPA, involvement in school/community activities)
RHS Class of 1965 – $1200
(3.5 GPA, involvement in school/community activities)
Forever Indian scholarship - $1200
(3.5 GPA, involvement at RHS, essay about RHS)
Beal Family Scholarship – $1500
(Involvement in RHS Athletic program. Short essays. Rec letter from a varsity coach.)
Ross Hansen Memorial scholarship - $1000
(Applicant plans to pursue music or music education degree. 3.0 GPA and above)

American Legion Children of Warriors Scholarship

Ford Scholars – for students who face economic challenge. Award meets 90% of unmet need. Sons & Daughters – dependent children or stepchildren of Roseburg Forest Products. $3,000 for students attending community college, $5,000 for students attending 4-year college. Roseburg High School Class of 1957

A $3,000 scholarship for a graduating senior from Roseburg High School.  Must have a 3.0 GPA or better, emphasis on involvement in activities at RHS, and short essay responses.  Pick-up an application in the Career Center

Raymond E Dicks Memorial Scholarship

A $1,500 scholarship for a graduating Roseburg High School senior.  Student must have a minimum of a 2.75 GPA and plan on attending an accredited community college or 4-year college or university.  Successful applicants will have a demonstrated interest in math and potential for future success.  Pick-up an application in the Career Center.

Elissa Marie Bogardus Memorial Scholarship

A $500 scholarship for a Roseburg High School graduating female senior who will be attending Oregon State University.  Selection criteria include responses to short essay prompts, academic achievement, and letters of recommendation.  Pick-up an application in the Career Center.

Pacific Northwest Association for College Admission Counseling (PNACAC)

$1,000 scholarships for students who reside in the PNACAC region.  Must have a GPA of 3.0 and be in your senior year of high school.  To apply, students will record a video that addresses a designated prompt.  For more information go to:  https://www.pnacac.org/pnacac-student-scholarship

Rogue Credit Union Douglas County Scholarship

$1,500 scholarship to a graduating Douglas County graduating senior.  Must be attending an accredited college or university in the United States.  Must have a 3.0 GPA to apply.  Selection based on academics, school activities, and community involvement.  For an application go to:  https://www.roguecu.org/community/scholarships

Oregon Pacific Banking Scholarship

One scholarship of $2,000 awarded to a graduating Roseburg High School Senior.  The award may be used at the college of the recipient’s choice.  Selection based on completeness of the application, academic achievement, and contributions to school and community.  Go to: https://www.opbc.com/scholarships/  for an application.

Rat Rod Round-Up Vocational Scholarship

Three $1,000 scholarships for those pursuing a trade.  Monies may be used for tools or other college/training-related expense.  GPA is NOT a consideration, however, school attendance may be.  Pick-up an application in the Career Center.
