Freshman Course Requesting

Dear 8th Grade Families,

Considering the current requirements of social distancing and distant learning, we have had to adjust the process of selecting electives courses for our incoming freshmen students. For ease of access and simplicity in the process for students and parents, we will be using online course requesting through ParentVue or StudentVue this year. We have opened RHS Course Requesting for current 8th grade students enrolled at JoLane or Fremont middle schools. Course requesting will remain open through May 11th.

The key things you will need for success in this process:

  1. Make sure you or your student know your password and have access to either ParentVue or StudentVue through a web browser (cannot request through a mobile app).
  2. Watch the video tutorial first so you know what to expect.
  3. Review the Freshman Course Index and research classes in the RHS 2020-2021 Course Guide to choose and list the electives courses you wish to take next year.

Choosing and organizing the desired electives classes first will help you search and select classes much quicker online. The process of online course requesting can take less than 10 minutes once you know what electives you wish to take.

Please note, course requesting is for elective classes only. Level changes for honors classes, support classes and teacher approved classes will be made by RHS guidance counselors after teachers have made recommendations.

If you have questions or need assistance with ParentVue or StudentVue, please email your child’s middle school guidance counselor. They will be able to assist you or direct help your way.
