PROGRESS REPORTS were mailed out this week.  Please take the time to review the progress report with your student(s).  If you have any questions, please contact your students’ teachers for additional information and/or strategies to help your student during distance learning.  Included with the progress report is information about the upcoming Parent/Teacher Conferences that will be held Wednesday, November 4 and Thursday, November 5.  Scheduling will open on October 19th for all RHS families.  Parents/Guardians will be scheduling their own conferences through ParentVUE again this year.  If you have not already activated your ParentVUE account, please contact the Counseling Center to get an activation code.  For additional ParentVUE assistance, please call the Counseling Center at (541) 440-4131.

CAREER CENTER VISITS:  The following schools/organizations have scheduled virtual visits to the RHS students.  If your student would like to learn more about these institutions, they can send Mr. Early an email at jearly@roseburg.k12.or.us two working days before the virtual visit:

  • Willamette University, Monday, October 26th at 11AM
  • Colorado Christian University, Friday, Oct 30th at 11AM
  • University of Portland, Wednesday, Nov 4th at 10AM

Our graduation supplier, Jostens, will be mailing out the order packets to all seniors in early to mid-October, requesting orders be returned during the week of October 26 – 30.  Grad supply orders (other than cap/gown packages) will be delivered through a drive-by pick-up event on Wednesday, November 4th from 3 to 5 pm in front of the school.

We are seeing a decline in student attendance on Wednesdays and need your help.  Our goal is to keep students engaged and learning in the courses each day.  We do require that all students log in and interact daily through Canvas, our learning management system.  This does include Wednesdays.  We are tracking attendance to ensure that students are engaged in learning and have a support plan to assist students if needed.  Parents can monitor student attendance and class grades through either (or both) of the following programs:

Parents can have access to their student’s courses in Canvas through an observer account.  Please use the link below to set up an account and gain access to the learning and activities of your student(s):

ParentVUE and StudentVUE provide convenient online access to the most up-to-date information about a student’s progress, including grades, attendance, assignments, teacher email addresses, and more.  This is an ongoing, live program; however, understand that assignments/assessments that have just been submitted may take some time to be graded.  The only set grade is the report card section which documents the progress report grade and the end-of-term grade.  The grade book will show the ongoing progress.  You can access ParentVue by visiting https://parent-roseburg.cascadetech.org/roseburg/PXP2_Login.aspx

If students and families have technology needs or questions, please use the email RHSHelpDesk@roseburg.k12.or.us

To streamline the photo process this year, try ordering online!  The link to order is:  inter-state.com/flyerentry/49386K.  Use Order Code 49386K.

If you have questions or need assistance, but aren’t sure who to contact, RHS has an email address specifically for those types of situations.  Contact askRHS@roseburg.k12.or.us and we will either route your question or concern to the appropriate staff or department or provide the requested information.  The email is checked often and may be quicker than leaving a voice message.

Have a counseling question that needs a quick answer?  Try out the Counseling Center’s new Chat Bot feature!  The chat can be accessed through the Counseling Center page on the RHS website (www.roseburg.k12.or.us/rhs) Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
