How behind the scenes of the “Orange R” really looks

When people watch our videos on the “Orange R” YouTube channel, they usually just see the finished product. What they don’t really see is how much time and teamwork actually goes into making it. There’s a lot that happens behind the scenes before a video is ready to post.
The process first always starts with everyone on the broadcast team sitting around a whiteboard to brainstorm what we should include this week. After we figure out what we want to include, our anchors and script writers start writing the script, working together to create the script that goes on the teleprompter. Sometimes the script sounds good but feels awkward when read out loud, so we make changes until it sounds more natural.
Then after we record all the clips in the studio, which usually takes a day or two to collect all the footage, comes the editing. Editing all the footage is honestly one of the most time-consuming parts; we mostly use Premiere Pro to edit our videos. This is where we cut clips, fix audio, add transitions, and put in graphics. Editing isn’t just cutting out mistakes, it's making sure everything flows smoothly so the video doesn’t feel rushed or choppy.
For some parts, like scrolling credits or certain segments, we use iMovie. It’s not as advanced, but it has helpful templates that make certain things quicker and easier to put together.
Finally, we publish the completed video on Youtube to be watched during the next advisory class.
The whole broadcast team has worked very hard to put out a broadcast every other week, and it takes a lot of planning and coordination, so thank you to all of our team members, and thank you to Ms. Engle and Mrs. Danielson for making all this possible.
