The TGC Club!
The Trading Card Game (TGC) Club plays a variety of trading card games. Some of the notable ones include Magic, The Gathering, Pokemon, and Yu-Gi-Oh.
A trading card game is a type of card game, unlike something like UNO you’re not just given one stagnant deck. A trading card game has a big collection aspect, similar to collecting baseball cards. Each card acts as a new way to play depending on whatever TCG series you get into. The Pokemon trading card game, for example, has many types of cards. You have the Pokemon to collect of course which each has its own unique type, attacks, attack costs, and unique usages. You then have item cards which are one use that give you a boost, usually picking something specific out of your card deck. Of course, with each trading card game the types of cards and rule sets change, leading to a very diverse genre. If all that sounds overwhelming, don’t worry, the TCG Club has you covered with a very beginner friendly atmosphere. The only prerequisite is bringing a deck of your own.
If this all sounds interesting, the club meets every Tuesday after school in Mr. Bassler’s room (M-2220) until 4 p.m., enough time to catch that after school bus.
