New RHS Staff: Ms. Eichman

One of the new teachers this school year at RHS is Ms. Eichman. She teaches Spanish 1 and 2 on the third floor of the Commons building. This year is her first year of teaching after graduating from University of Oregon and doing student teaching for a year. She said she chose to teach at RHS “because I went to school here and I wanted to come back home for a little bit, and I wanted to get back to my community.” She said her favorite thing about RHS is “the administration, I think they’re all super easy to talk to and nice. I really like all the students honestly. All my students are really fun and pretty engaged.” Ms. Eichman said her favorite thing about teaching at RHS is “getting to know the students ‘cause obviously they’re who I spend all my time with every single day and it’s pretty rewarding to watch them learn and also get to know them as people.”
A fun fact about Ms. Eichman is that her mother taught at RHS until last year. Ms. Eichman said she is teaching Spanish because she has always liked learning languages and she minored in Spanish at UO. She started learning languages in Señor Hibbert’s class, and now she teaches in the classroom right next to his. She said “Now I’m [at RHS]I really like it.” Ms. Eichman said she became a teacher because “I personally really enjoy learning and I always thought that a teacher was someone who could make a difference in someone's life so I wanted to be able to offer that to students and it's a fun career too honestly, we know you get summers off, which is great…It's honestly a fun job you can do all these projects and be creative.” Ms. Eichman is going to be a great addition to the staff at RHS.
